The nice thing I see about Plinky is that it facilitates discussion on a topic - usually something fun. The site organizes people and thoughts around questions or prompts as suppose to random free-for all-discussion. Plinky could be an excellent research tool for finding out thoughts on books, travel, music, etc. Or to just be inspired by something random.
