PhoneFactor Demo

An interactive demo for PhoneFactor was launched over the weekend. A select group of individuals were sent a FedEx package with a pre-paid phone and username/password. The public can make up their own username/password and use a phone nearby to experience PhoneFactor here:

The simplicity of the communication echos the simplicity of the service - use an ordinary phone to add security to anything that requires a username/password or PIN. I recently wrote about the basics of two-factor here. The technical details can be found in the FAQs and “How it Works” sections on the PhoneFactor site.
The costs of maintaining a complex hardware system should make this simple service very appealing to any company. And with the amount of identity theft in online banking and online payment systems this added security is just what we need. Now, we just need the IT guys and decision makers to get PhoneFactor.
