CP+B Influence and Inspiration

Crispin Porter Bokusky has redefined advertising as we know it. their name floods awards lists, magazines, and blogs. and they are obviously influencing the way marketers think.
2 examples.
- a chrysler spot with a german engineer, and the vw spot with german engineers by cp+b.
- a bk spot with the “creepy” king mascot, and a spot (couldn’t find it online) with a similar “creepy” quaker oats man. are these spots subliminally influenced? heavily inspired by cp+b?
or, what if, cp+b has such an influence in the marketplace that they, in fact, made creepy mascots and german engineers cool. and, the agencies that partner with quaker and chrysler piggy-backed onto the cool-factor equity?
now, that is an interesting strategy. to execute a heavily inspired campaign that already has marketplace trend momentum and equity.
